Terms & Conditions


The contract is for short term holiday rental of The Old Barn Apartment made between the client ( the individual who made the booking ) and the owners, Mr & Mrs Tesar, binding from such time when the deposit payment has cleared and the booking is subsequently confirmed in writing either by post or email.

Bookings are accepted on the understanding that the property is taken for holiday purposes only and that, excepting babies, the number of people in each property is limited to that entered on the booking form.

The onus is upon the client to check all booking details and make sure that the dates allocated are correct, we cannot be held responsible for any mistakes that arise from incorrect booking details being provided.

The person making any bookings must be over the age of 18 and authorised to make such booking on the basis of these terms and conditions by all other members of the party.

The client and any friends or family of the customer visiting The Old Barn Apartment while the client is staying there must adhere to the conditions of the contract, including the rules and procedures contained in the information provided in the property and within these terms and conditions. If inviting friends to visit the client must first seek the permission of the owners.


We require an initial deposit of £100 to secure your booking. This deposit is nonrefundable after seven days from the date of booking. The deposit shall be provided at the time of booking. If you are paying by cheque, this should be made payable to Mr & Mrs Tesar.

The balance payment should be paid in full at least thirty days before the rental date.

Full payment of the cost is payable on booking if the booking is made less than four weeks before the start of the rental.

Payments can be made by cheque, (provided enough time is allowed for the cheque to clear before your holiday starts) or electronic bank transfer. We can provide bank account details for an electronic transfer on request.

We have the right to re-book any bookings if the deposit or balance payments have not been received on or before the respective due dates.


In the event of a cancellation the total of any balance received is non refundable, if the cancellation is within 30 days of the rental period the total cost is payable.

Any cancellation made by the client for whatever reason shall be in writing by post of email. On receipt of the notice of cancellation The Old Barn Apartment, the owners will seek to re-let the property for the period of booking. If a re-letting is achieved, the owners will refund money already paid by the client less rent for any part of the period which was not able to be re-let and less an administrative charge of £50.

The client is strongly advised to take out holiday cancellation insurance.

Check In / Check Out

Change over days can be flexible to meet with the clients requirements and must be arranged at booking stage, this will form part of the rental agreement prior to the holiday stay, normally the change over day for full week lets are Friday to Friday, midweeks Monday to Friday, weekends Friday to Monday. On checking in, the property will become available from 14:00pm, upon checking out the property must be vacated latest by 11:00am.

The property key collection will be advised prior to arrival day. Any spare keys to remain in the property where found and the main key returned to collection point upon departure.

Care of the Property

The client shall take all reasonable and proper care of the property and its furniture, pictures, fittings and effects in or on the property and leave them in the same state of repair, condition, cleanliness and tidiness as at the commencement of the rental period.

A condition of staying at The Old Barn Apartments is that our property is treated with respect and care. We request a security deposit of £200, which must be paid with your balance payment or prior to your use of the Apartment. This will be refundable following a full property inspection and clean through.

The client is required to inform the owner of any damage or breakage in or around the property promptly so that it can be repaired and replaced for the next client.

The client is bound to reimburse the owners for replacement, repair or extra cleaning costs where reasonably demanded by the owners for damage caused by the client.

Right of Entry

Whilst respecting the reasonable privacy of the client, the owners of The Old Barn Apartment reserve the right to access the property at all times, if necessary, for repairs and emergencies.


Smoking is not permitted anywhere inside the holiday accommodation, near to buildings or in the porch area because fire safety regulations.


No pets are permitted in the property.


The owners of The Old Barn Apartment are not liable for any loss or damage to any client’s property or any property belonging to a member of the client’s party howsoever caused.

The client or members of his/her party cannot hold the owners of The Old Barn Apartment liable for any personal injury/death howsoever sustained where the owners and/or their employees have used reasonable skill and care; and/or where caused by the fault of the person(s) affected or any member(s) of their party (including inadequate supervision of children); and/or where caused by the fault of a third party, and/or where caused by an event that could not have been reasonably foreseen or avoided.
